Sunday Services begin with Adult Bible Study at 9:00 and morning worship begins at 10:00.  Our December 11 Service will feature the children of the church, guests, and the children of Tender Shepherd Pre-School, as they join in Christmas Carols and the message of the Baby in Bethlehem.

CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH

November 2011
Christ Lutheran Church, just south of the Troy Common on Rte. 12 by the blinking light, begins the month of November with All Saints Sunday when we give thanks for all who have led us in the faith and who have finished their race.  Late in the month we come together to give thanks in a Thanksgiving Eve Service with Holy Communion on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7 PM and then we end the month with the beginning of the Advent season – the season of preparing our hearts for the birth of the Christ Child.

During Advent we meet on Wednesday nights (Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, and 21) at 6 PM for a “Soup & Sandwich” supper followed by a worship service at 7 PM.  Each year we follow a theme during these services and this year we look to the prophets and focus on ‘Wait, Pray, and Live by Faith.”  The public is invited to these suppers and services…come, prepare yourselves, and your Christmas celebration will be greatly enriched.

CHRIST LUTHERAN

From the Issue:
July/August 2011
Christ Lutheran Church in Troy invites anyone and everyone who does not have a church-home to come to a new kind of worship gathering on Saturday evenings beginning July 9, 2011, at 7 PM.  This will be an informal kind of worship which we pray will develop out of the needs and interests of those who come.  Initially the focus will be about “Family” -   the “WHY” of worship – the “What will it do for me and my family?” -  the “Why should I care? - my life is fine without religion!”

We will meet in the fellowship hall of Christ Lutheran Church where the large windows let us see the fenced in play area where the children can play while the grown-ups talk.  Coffee will be served – bring your soft drink or water if you like, but come…2,  20 or any number in between.  Our world is so full of stress and problems and yet there can be a peace and a comfort for us and that same peace and comfort can spill over and improve our family lives.  There can be more to life than work, money, some fun, and death.
